FDE

Joining your team and confirming the value through results.
Having AI take over the work people do. That's what FDEs do.

What is an FDE?

Forward Deployed Engineer.
FDEs look at your challenges and decide with you which approach fits best: deploying a ready-to-use product as is, using OPRA to bring AI to the operation itself, or building your own AI services. They then run it within your operations, embed it, and extend it to other operations. They work with TIGEREYE's own AI and combine it with other companies' AI to fill any gaps.

Three ways FDEs engage

From your first step to bringing development in-house, you can choose how we engage.
These are the ways FDEs engage when development is involved.

What FDEs take on

  1. Discover challenges

Understand your operations and identify what to hand over to AI

  2. Design

Design the operations and choose the right technology

  3. Implement

Implement AI to fit your operations

  4. Deploy

    Run it within your operations

  5. Embed

Check the results to confirm it works, and keep it in use

  6. Expand

Extend it to other operations and departments

Speed

Development that would conventionally take about 6–14 months, done in about 7 weeks

This is a case of AI-driven development.

  • Users

    About 10K

  • Development period

    About 7 weeks

About 6 to 14 months with conventional development

  • Codebase size

    About 250K lines

  • Productivity

    4–8x

    Approximate, compared with conventional development

The development team had about 30 people.

Quality and cost

Building fast without sacrificing quality

All figures are estimates based on a scenario we modeled.

  • Time per review

    About 1/4

    About 60 minutes → about 15 minutes

  • Cost of incidents caused by releases

    50–70% lower

  • Cost of technical debt

    60–80% lower

  • Ramp-up time for new team members

    About 1/2

Contract types

There are two types of contracts: projects (FDE) and ongoing services (monthly and usage-based fees for the platform and ready-to-use products).

Project
Operations analysis → AI design → implementation → deployment. Deliverable-based
Ongoing
Monthly and usage-based fees for the platform and ready-to-use products

How adoption works when starting with NERVA (an example)

This is an example of the flow when you start with building your own AI services (NERVA).
If you deploy ready-to-use products, each product also has a monthly fee.

  1. Project with FDEs
  2. Platform deployment (initial fee)
  3. Monthly fee
  4. Usage-based fee
  5. Adding products and expanding to other operations
